Orgonite is a composite matrix engineered to facilitate the transduction and stabilization of orgone, a term originally coined by Wilhelm Reich to denote a primordial, pre-electromagnetic life-field that permeates biological systems and atmospheric layers. The material typically combines organic resins, which accumulate and polarize subtle charge through their dielectric relaxation properties, with inorganic metallic particulates that exhibit high conductivity and micro-capacitive response. These opposing substrates generate a continuous alternation of absorption and release that is theorized to create a nonlinear oscillatory sink for ambient orgone, drawing in disordered environmental energy and reordering it through structural gradients in the matrix. Practitioners argue that the resin’s shrinking during polymerization creates internal piezoelectric stresses on embedded quartz, prompting persistent micro-vibrational emissions that seed coherence within the orgone flow. For this lot, emphasis was on composition and function, allowing the raw aesthetic of the primal elements to speak for themselves. The recipe for the metal matrix was heavy iron, titanium, quartz granules and quartz chips; the metal layer is saturated with quartz for even dispersal of piezoelectric charge. This presents some compositional challenges, but when successful, we’re left with stunning artifacts fit for any wizard’s holiday stocking.
